Plus ca change

Hey, it's the fortieth anniversary of "Live from the Surface of the Moon."

  1. I was one of those people sitting tight in front of the tv with a camera in hand when they did the first walk. I still have the photos in an old album. Have no idea what I ever did with the negs. It was just so exciting.

    You're not alone misplacing your negatives. NASA lost the original videotapes of the moon landing. That's right; LOST them.

  3. My dad was in the Ordinance Corps of the US Army which worked with NASA on some of their projects so we followed these events carefully. I also remember standing in the yard at night with a telescope trying to see Sputnik convinced the Russians were coming.

  4. Okay, I actually believe some numbskull actually did this. Probably Rosemary Woods.

    I remember seeing Sputnik go over. I still go out some nights to watch for satellites. Saw the Space Shuttle with I guess it was the Russian ship go over years and years ago. That was pretty interesting.
